Korean Drama Through The Darkness officially aired on January 14, 2022. Casting by Kim Nam Gil as Song Ha Young, Kim So Jin as Yoon Tae Goo, and Jin Seon Kyu as Kook Young Soo, this drama tells the story of criminal profilers who struggle to read the minds of serial murderers. This series is adapted from the 2018 non-fiction book of the same title co-written by Korea's first criminal profiler Kwon Il Yong and journalist-turned-author Ko Na Mu, which tells the story of Kwon's field experiences.

SINOPSIS
In Seoul, South Korea, in the 1990s, the nation is gripped with terror after a series of brutal murders strikes terror into the hearts of its citizens. A mysterious figure known as Red Hat has been stalking the streets, following women, terrorizing them, and then killing them in apparently motiveless attacks. The police are baffled – the killer seems to strike at random. They struggle to understand when this murderer will attack next and why the killings are taking place.
Having heard about the way that the American FBI is using criminal profilers to build “profiles” of killers in such cases, the head of the Criminal Behavior Analysis team Gook Young Soo (Jin Seon Gyu) turns to Song Ha Young (Kim Nam Kil), a quiet, reserved, but incredibly perceptive team member for help. Gook Young Soo thinks that using this new method, the police might stand a chance of identifying the killer – and making the murders stop. But the police – including the homicide expert Yoon Tae Goo (Kim So Jin) – are now in totally uncharted territory. Will their radical new approach to fighting crime work? And does Song Ha Young really have the skills it will take to track down this fiendish murderer?

The crime-thriller drama lovers are certainly waiting for "Through The Darkness". This drama has been officially announced to air on January 14, 2022.
This drama is adapted from a non-fiction book with the same title, Agui Maeumeul Ingneun Jadeul (Those Who Read Hearts of Evil). The book was written by Kwon Il Yong, South Korea's first criminal profiler. In writing this book, he was assisted by Go Na Mu, a journalist who turned into a writer.
Kwon Il Yong became a police officer in 1989 and be the first criminal profiler in South Korea in 2000. His name was known by the public after he managed to profile several serial killers, such as Yoo Young Chul and Jung Nam Kyu. His experience is expressed in a book published in 2018.
This crime thriller drama takes the perspective of a profiler who struggles day and night to read the minds of serial killers. Raising the experience of Kwon Il Yong makes this drama highly anticipated by the audience.
Song Ha Young's character will reveal the truth behind serial murder cases with her calm and charismatic nature. He always digs up the case and looks deeply into the human mind.
The script Through the Darkness was written by Seol Yi Na. Interestingly, Kwon Il Yong and Go Na Mu also provide their perspectives in this drama script. Thus, it is hoped that this drama truly depicts the process of a criminal profiler digging and uncovering the truth.
Through the Darkness will be different from the previous profiler dramas. This drama will give a deep feeling and tension that makes you even more curious about the continuation of the story.
