One of Newtopia drama scene with Jisoo as main star

The first trailer for the upcoming Coupang Play drama series Newtopia has just been released, featuring Park Jeong-Min and Kim Ji-Soo (Blackpink) in lead roles. In Newtopia, Park Jeong-Min plays Lee Jae-Yoon, a soldier who joined the military later than his peers, burdened by the weight of uncertainty about his future. Kim Ji-Soo portrays his girlfriend, Kang Young-Joo, a stunning woman once known as the "Goddess of the Engineering Department" during her university days. Now, she works as a rookie employee at a company, navigating the challenges of a new career. The two share a deep love, but their relationship is tested when a catastrophic event strikes.

The trailer opens with Kim Ji-Soo’s character, Kang Young-Joo, stating, "How about we take some time apart?" The words hang in the air, signaling a tension between them even before the chaos of the world unfolds. The serenity of their lives is shattered when an unknown virus suddenly erupts, spreading rapidly and turning infected people into horrifying zombies. With the world descending into chaos, Lee Jae-Yoon and Kang Young-Joo must struggle to survive in a world overtaken by the undead. But their love for one another pushes them to fight their way through the danger, each desperately searching for the other in the zombie-infested streets of Seoul.

Newtopia is set to be a thrilling, high-stakes journey through the ruins of a crumbling city. Amid the chaos, the series will explore the lengths to which people will go to survive and the power of love and determination in the face of the end of the world. The series will premiere on February 7, 2025, on Coupang Play in South Korea and will be available internationally on Amazon Prime. It will bring a fresh take to the apocalyptic genre.

As Lee Jae-Yoon and Kang Young-Joo navigate the dangers of this new, zombie-ridden world, their bond becomes a symbol of hope and resilience, propelling them to keep moving forward in search of each other. In despair, their love might just be the key to surviving a world overrun by the undead.
